THEY CALL ME CORONA.

They call me Corona, for that is my name.

I have made history; I am showered with fame.

They say I was unexpected, unprecedented, a shock for the world, they say no one could have seen me coming, that this was never foretold.

I am here now and here to stay, invading your world in every which way.

You can’t hold me back so don’t even try, you touch me and you know you might very well, die.

I speak every language, I know every tongue, I have travelled the world and it has only just begun.

I make no exceptions I follow no rules, whatever your gender I’ll be just as cruel.

I don’t bargain with race, never with wealth, I am indiscriminate, I just want your health.

I will take your family; I feel no remorse. Your friends are mine now; I follow the course.

I know your neighbors, your colleagues, your boss. I will find your pen pals; I don’t give a toss.

Wash your hands they say, stay in you’ll be fine, what good will that do, your house is now mine.

You say to accept it, make peace with my crimes but I am indifferent and proud to serve time.

I will serve it with ease, I will never age, I’ll be back to cause chaos just as you turn the page.

Be cautious, be aware, be calm, be prepared. I can hide just about anywhere.

They call me Corona, for that is my name.

I have made history; I am showered with fame.
